Graphic Works Atlanta Launches a New Portfolio Web Site

They say that a cobbler’s children have no shoes. In the case of our web site at Graphic Works, we just had “old shoes”. After months of collecting new samples of our recent graphic design projects, web site designs and photography we were finally ready to unleash our promotional web site.

We designed this web site to be Flash-free and to work natively on Apple iPhones, iPads and other mobile devices that do not support Adobe Flash.

Where My Designs End Up…

One of my favorite Graphic Works clients, EES, was kind enough to send me a snapshot of her (Linda)  at a trade show. Rarely do I get to see where some of my designs end up so this was a treat for me. I have been working with EES for over 10 years and they fantastic people with innovative cleaning and odor control products for industrial in institutional use. They also have a retail division that sells the wildly successful BugBand insect repellents made with Geraniol. From humble beginnings, BugBand is now sold in huge retail chains and even in different countries around the world. That stuff works wonders at keeping insects away from you. 
I have created package designs, displays, retail signs catalogs and web sites for BugBand and EES so I have a lot of interest in their continued success. Thanks EES for being such great clients and friends.

New Web Site Launched for Atlanta Business Photography

After weeks of sorting, editing and writing, I am finally able to launch AtlantaBusinessPhotos.com … a portfolio of photography, illustration and retouching. Some of you are already familiar with my photography services for personal portraits and events seen at AtlantaPortraitPhoto.com, but I needed another portfolio for just business-related photography and illustration services.

I built this site for Graphic Works, aka the “day-job” that I have held since 1992. While most of the photography on it is mine, the site is meant to represent the work of 3 other photographers and artists that  are employed at Graphic Works. We have been producing more photography and video content over the past year and needed a way to share this with our clients. Give it a look…

Wealth Advisory Group Logo

I was hired to design a logo for a investment consulting firm. The pine cone was requested by the client for personal reasons, but it is supposed to symbolize growth of wealth from small beginnings.

The line art of the pine cone drawing was a collaboration with Jim Schuknecht, a illustrator and designer that I have worked with for many years. We refined it many times until it had the look correct balance.

Then, I modified the flat art to make the logo look  like an embossed etching.

Product Catalog and Web Site for Effective Environmental Systems

EES, Inc. (Effective Environmental Systems) is one of my oldest and most favorite clients. I feel like I have grown up with them and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer group of people.
Dan Ritter, the owner of the company, is an ex-marine and very patriotic, and our first catalog design for them reflected this with a red, white and blue color theme.

After years of success using this marketing, it was time for something noticeably new. Our latest catalog design features a green and blue color palette and elements from nature. We wanted to evoke a feeling of the fresh air you’d find outdoors. After all, the main products that they sell are air fresheners and industrial strength deodorizers. View the EES catalog PDF here.

Virtual Product Photography

A few months ago, I photographed a product that was on its way to production. The product prototype was in the studio for one day before heading to China. The photo was going to be used on the retail packaging and web site.

Many weeks later, the product specs changed and a new photograph was needed showing the addition of a LED light and the top in an open position. Since, the prototype was thousands of miles away, I had to create add the new details in photoshop and make them convincing enough to use on packaging and posters.

Digestive Healthcare Web Site Launched

Digestive Healthcare of Georgia is a medical organization that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastro-intestinal diseases. They have three location in the Atlanta area. We had been maintaining their aging website for many years and frankly, it was not cutting it any more. We gave the web site a facelift and optimized it for search engines.
